This week, UNESCO is launching an international call for candidatures for the renewal and expansion of the Expert Facility, both in terms of expertise and equitable geographical representation (experts from Arab States, Africa and Latin-America are still currently underrepresented). The Expert Facility Programme aims at accompanying Member States in the development of CCIs regulatory frameworks and policies, the integration of culture in development policies and strategies and in the implementation of the UNESCO Culture|2030 Indicators. It is established with two streams: (i) on the elaboration of regulatory frameworks for the cultural and creative industries, in line with the 2005 Convention, and (ii) on the UNESCO Culture|2030 Indicators. This will allow Member States, and if applicable their cities, to have access to expertise in all steps of the policy cycle: from elaboration to implementation, monitoring and evaluation of their policies.

Experts are invited to apply to one or both streams based on their area of expertise, experience in providing technical assistance and the application requirements of each stream. The renewed Expert Facility for the UNESCO Culture|2030 Indicators will consist of experts from different regions who are fully informed about the methodology and the implementation process of the UNESCO Culture|2030 Indicators and will support and accompany Member States and their cities in the implementation of the UNESCO Culture|2030 Indicators. The Expert Facility will also provide the necessary technical assistance for capacity building at various levels and regions. The activities of the experts may include workshops, advisory technical assistance, short and long-term capacity-building interventions, mentoring, and among others. To refer to the full announcement, please follow this link  (deadline 23 April 2023).
