Call For Recommendations - Storytellers for the NTN

The National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) in partnership with National Arts Council of Namibia are undertaking funded by their Covid-19 Relief Fund, which will be comprised of two events for indigenous storytelling with public engagement. The project is seeking one Storyteller from Omaheke and one Storyteller from the Zambezi region, who are skilled Storytellers, Praise Poets and/or Storytellers that work with indigenous music.

For each region the following languages are the priority;

Omaheke Region:

  1. Setswana 
  2. Otjiherero 

Zambezi Region:

  1. Subiya
  2. Silozi

The selected storytellers will be remunerated with an honorarium fee for their work once agreeing to this project. Additionally, if the selected Storyteller does not live in the vicinity of Windhoek, they will be provided with accommodation, transport and other related matters for them partake within this project. 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are looking at Storytellers between the ages of 40 – 60 maximum, as we do not want to put the elderly at risk.
